Waste Management Systems
Purpose to manage waste from agricultural production in a manner that prevents or minimizes degradation of soil and water resources. Such systems are planned to preclude discharge of pollutants to surface or ground water and recycle waste through correct soil application to agricultural land (Dairies).

What does it pay on?
Waste storage facilities, waste storage pond, waste treatment lagoon and support components required for the proper functioning of the system including fencing, critical area planting and heavy use area protection

Cost-share will be provided at 75% county average, or actual cost, which ever is cheaper.

Maintenance Life
This practice has a 10-year maintenance agreement that says the landowner will maintain the practice in accordance to NRCS standards for the life of the practice.

Waste Utilization
Purpose is to safely use wastes which are produced on a farm within the SALT watershed, to provide fertility for crop, forage, or fiber production, improve or maintain soil structure, prevent erosion and safeguard water resources.

What does it pay?
The basic incentive rate is an acre for one year, with a limit of ,750 per farm, per landowner or operator.

Maintenance Life

This practice has a 1 year maintenance agreement that says the landowner will maintain the practice in accordance to NRCS standards for the life of the practice.
