Permanent Vegetative Cover Establishment
Purpose of this project is to decrease soil erosion on highly eroding fields. In order for a field to qualify for this practice there needs to be very steep slopes, and very little ground cover (ground cover could be anything from grass, leaves, rocks, to weeds). Soil type is taken into a count for rate of erosion.
How much does it pay? This project if land qualifies pays up to 75% based on county average cost for fertilizer, lime (by soil test recommendations), seed, seedbed prep (conventional, or no-till).
Maintenance Life of practice.
This practice has a 5-year maintenance agreement that says the landowner will maintain the practice in accordance to NRCS standards for the life of the practice.
What if the stand fails?
If the stand fails within one year of the seeding date, let us know and we can do a reseeding that will qualify you for up to 75% cost-share on seed and seedbed prep. (There will not be anymore cost-share on fertilizer and lime)

Permanent Vegetative Cover Enhancement
This practice is an incentive practice to get landowners to use a no-till drill. To qualify the field needs to qualify in "poor" condition as determined by technician.
How much does it pay? Cost-share on this practice is again 75% of the county average for fertilizer, lime (by soil test results), legume seed and use of no-till drill.
Stipulations:
This practice has an 80-acre limit per landowner with a 4-year window to do the 80 acres. Also, if your soil test comes back needing more than 1500 pounds per acre, we can cost-share on up to 1500 pounds per acre and no more.
